TMC is in the midst of planning its second annual Benefit Concert. The event, which will bring together on-campus music, dance, and performance art groups, will raise funds to be donated to a local New Haven organization. Groups currently being considered for proceeds of the concert include the Columbus House temporary relief shelter, which may be forced to close again this May due to budget restrictions, the New Haven AIDS project, the New Haven branch of the United Way, the Fairhaven Community Health Clinic, and the Hill Health Center. Student performance groups being considered include Shades, A Different Drum, student bands, and School of Music faculty chamber ensembles. The concert is tentatively being set for the first week in April, in Battell Chapel.

Planning for this event is being carried out by the previous year's board, but we'll need a great deal of help from our volunteers to make it a success! The best way to get involved is to attend our Organizational Meeting on Thurs., Jan. 23 in the Davenport common room, where we will most likely begin forming committees to preside over various details of the concert. We look forward to seeing you there!
