

Dean Sakamoto is a design architect, educator, curator, and exhibition designer. Sakamoto holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon (1986), a Master of Architecture from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (1992), and Master of Environmental Design from Yale University (1998) where he was the recipient of the Gertrude Wood Traveling Fellowship and Alpha Rho Chi Medal. Today, he is the principal of Dean Sakamoto Architects LLC and serves on the faculty of the Yale School of Architecture as a Critic and Director of Exhibitions. In the City of New Haven he serves on the boards of the Chapel West Special Services District; Sites Projects, a public art organization; and is a Commissioner on the Mayor’s Cultural Affairs Commission.
Naomi Sakamoto is an office manager at Dean Sakamoto Architects LLC and administrative assistant for the Yale School of Architecture Gallery. She holds a B.A. in business from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (1982) and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Hawaii. In 1997, Naomi was named State Employee of the Year for the University of Hawaii at Manoa in position as the Business Manager of the School of Nursing.
Kai Sakamoto is in the 2nd Grade at Foote School in New Haven. He excels in swimming, soccer, golf, and loves to draw. Kai translates to ocean in Hawaiian.
Daniel Abadi

Before joining the Yale computer science faculty, he spent four years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received his Ph.D. Daniel has been a recipient of a Churchill Scholarship, an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, and a VLDB best paper award. Daniel's research interests are in database system architecture and implementation, cloud computing, and the Semantic Web.
Nathan Gault

Nathan is one of our Old Campus Fellows this year. The Old Campus fellows help coordinate a series of seminars on adjustment to college life, including sessions on study skills, time and stress management, and a host of other pressing concerns for new college students.
Nathan is also the Yale College webmaster. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and English from Muskingum College and his M.A. in International Education from Columbia University. While at Muskingum, Nathan served two years as a resident assistant and one year as a resident director. Prior to his current position as Yale College webmaster, he worked in several other offices at Yale, including Admissions and the Yale Alumni Magazine.
