Ralph Molina

College: Jonathan Edwards
Major: Linguistics
Hometown: Lubbock, TX

Activities: Club Baseball, Delta Kappa Epsilon, and Whaling Crew

About: I'm from Lubbock, Texas (I know you've never heard of it), and I am the only person in the association who can rock a pair of cowboy boots. I love following college football, professional baseball, and the constant success of the great Vinay Nayak (In case you've unfortunately never heard him speak: I'm a huge fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Texas Rangers, and the Princeton Mock Trial Team (as is Daniel Stern). I typically spend my weekends hanging out at DKE, reading over the rules of evidence, or with a bottle of merlot and a nice romcom in my common room. Yep, that's pretty much me.
Skyler Ross

About: Loryn competed on her high school Mock Trial team in New Jersey - the best state - for three years before coming to Yale. Things she enjoys include listening to Eminem (especially in trial), color-coding her case packet, and Loryn plans to go to law school when she graduates.
Raymond Zhu

Olivia Walker

College: Branford
Major: Geology and Geophysics
Hometown: Santa Barbara, CA

Activities: Yale Belly Dance Society, Yale Club Geo, Branford College Council, Branford Buttery Co-Manager, and Branford Intramural Sports

About: Olivia has competed as a fake attorney/fake doctor/fake scientist/fake crying girl in Mock Trial tournaments for a non-insignificant fraction of her life now (more than 25%). In her free time she enjoys making the strenuous walk to the gym to play a real man's sport (Intramural inner-tube water polo), and then congratulating herself with Little Debbie's Swiss Rolls and Game of Thrones. Olivia is unsure what she wants to do with her life, but she knows it's between Law School, Medical School, and Geophysics fieldwork in a tropical locale, such as Costa Rica.
Daniel Stern

College: Saybrook
Major: Cognitive Science
Hometown: Baltimore, MD

Activities: Yale Football (coaches' asst.), Yale All-Access (Sports Broadcaster and Producer), Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, Yale Daily News, Saybrook intramurals

About: Daniel Stern (b. 1994) is best known as the inspiration for HBO's acclaimed show "The Wire." Constantly arrested on the streets of Baltimore, Daniel was exposed to the law at a very early age. Through middle and high school, he spent most days in courthouses answering lawyers' questions as the defendant in his own criminal trials. He joined Yale Mock Trial to get back at society by flipping the scripts. Now he's the one asking the questions. Get at him.
Andrew Tran

College: Berkeley
Major: Political Science
Hometown: Irvine, CA

Activities: Yale International Relations Association, The Yale Historical Review, pick-up soccer, Trivial Pursuiting

About: Andrew was born and raised in Southern California, where he grew up playing soccer, biking to the beach on weekends, and eating In-N-Out Burger (which he wishes existed on the East Coast). His favorite animal is the mola mola.

Andrew fell in love with Mock Trial when he first joined during his freshman year of high school. He loves the program at Yale even more and plans on continuing to the end of his Yale career! Before he decided to pursue a career in law, Andrew had wanted to be an aquarium cleaner so he could swim with all the really cool sea creatures, or a soccer player for Real Madrid, or Willy Wonka. He will actually love you forever if you can identify this drawing:

Johnny Golding

College: Ezra Stiles
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: London, U.K.

Activities: Umm... Uhh... [*gulps*]

About: Johnny crossed the Atlantic in pursuit of the American Dream but settled for a spot in the YMTA. A Portuguese resident since 1999, he's a fan of floral swimwear, but won't wear shorts because they're just swimming trunks you can't go swimming in. He also owns a rabbit named Darwin. If you spot him outside, don't approach too quickly or loudly because he's a little shy. He makes up for this with great litter box habits, but some members of the YMTA have started to question why, aged 21 and currently enrolled in college, he won't just use a toilet like everyone else.
Clé Dupuy

College: Calhoun
Major: Philosophy
Hometown: Toledo, OH

Activities: Running

About: As a white male from a middle class suburb in Ohio, I'd say the most striking/inexplicable thing about me is my love for old school gangsta rap. I can't really relate to anything they rap about, but boy can those guys make music. Aside from that I just finished DS which took up a ton of time, but since that time will be free next year I hope to branch out not only in Mock Trial but also in other activities on campus as well as groups that reach out to the broader New Haven area.
Allison Durkin

College: Ezra Stiles
Major: Cognitive Science
Hometown: West Pittston, PA

Activities: Production and Design for the Yale Daily News, the Dramat, Yale Aids Support Coalition

About: From West Pittston, born and raised, in New Haven is where she spent most of her days — chilling out, acting, being pretty cool, laying out papers for the Yale Daily News — when a couple of mockers, who were up to no good, started winning trophies in the neighborhood. She went to one info session and she thought that was great. She thought, "I want to play a fake witness for the YMTA."
Jeffrey Guo

College: Pierson
Major: Economics
Hometown: Riverside, CA

Activities: Yale Mock Trial, Yale Symphony Orchestra

About: Alex Feiock and I once met a snake in the African desert. Ask him about it when you get a chance.

5. fan of whistling, elephants, shady spots, WaWa smoothies, family members, people who laugh at my jokes, and anyone in a bow tie or top hat.

Major: EP&E (an acronym for PEE)
Hometown: Seattle, WA

Activities: running uncontested for things; urinating in high places (i.e. the Presidency, zipline platforms); slowly and painfully extracting herself from awkward situations she creates (if infeasible, then attempting to ameliorate said situations*); inspiring.

*success rate undetermined but likely very low
Travis Tor Hutchinson

College: Timothy Dwight
Major: Economics and Cognitive Science
Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Activities: Yale Urban Fellow Program, Timothy-Dwight Master's Aide, Yale Russian Chorus

About: Born in the far away land of Brooklyn, NY, Trav has always been a keen witness -- to the beauties and uglinesses of the world. At age 4, Travis' mom accused him and his friends of stealing from the cookie jar...while his friends got red from embarrassment, Travis pleaded the fifth like a cool cucumber.

Many compare him to a Dolphin: cute, smart, does ridiculous things sometimes, but don't let that fool you, he can be lethal with his combination of legal words, intense stares, and Taekwondo (alright scratch the last one). He has a weak spot for dark chocolate, tea, and good conversation.
Minsun Cha

College: Pierson
Major: Undecided
Hometown: Seoul, South Korea

Activities: Consummate tea drinking

About: Having been a TCK all her life, Minsun is frequently thrown in to an existential crisis by the harmless introductory question, 'where are you from?'. She currently divides her time between Seoul, Singapore, New Haven and various other places, but has yet to conquer Antarctica. Her love for travel, sleep, moscato and EDM can only be rivalled by her passion for this new venture into Mock Trial.
Chloe Larkin

College: Ezra Stiles
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: Portland, OR

Activities: Yale UNICEF

About: Chloe is from Portland, Oregon. She did Mock Trial for three years in high school and is excited to continue being emotionally invested in fictional witnesses. At Yale, Chloe anticipates studying global health issues, weathering a real winter for the first time, and enjoying life in the best residential college on campus (GFM!).
Jonathan Esty

College: Davenport
Major: Undeclared, English or Political Science
Hometown: Cheshire, CT

Activities: The Politic, College Dems, Road Runners, Model UN Team at Yale

About: Prefers being right to surrendering an inch of ground, a tactic which has served him well in relationships. When not arguing with people, he practices in anticipation of one day being one more Dead White Male Writer.
Kerry Burke-McCloud

College: Morse
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: Jacksonville Beach, FL

Activities: Yale Dramat, Usher at the Yale Repertory Theatre, anything having to do with Classical Civilizations!

About: Kerry was born and raised in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Back home, Kerry taught Taekwondo for 5 years to people of all ages and was heavily involved in both the Florida and National Junior Classical League. He took 3 years of law classes at his high school, Fletcher High School (Go Senators!) and participated in high school Mock Trial during that time. His perfect world involves becoming a high school Latin teacher/college consultant/Equity Actor (in that order! SHEESH!). When not working, Kerry enjoys long walks on the beach, drinking piña coladas in the pouring rain, and listening to showtunes. He is a complete chatterbox and cannot wait to meet his fellow and future mockers!
Priya Sundaresan

College: Pierson
Major: Political Science
Hometown: Fremont, CA

Activities: AIESEC, Undergraduate Prison Project

About: Priya joined the Mock Trial team because she hopes to do this for real someday. If that doesn't work out, she'd prefer to take over for Patrick Jane as The Mentalist - at least for the next few seasons.
Andy Hill

College: Berkeley
Major: Psychology and Art History
Hometown: Springfield, MO

Joe Li

College: Morse
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: London, U.K.

Activities: Yale Undergraduate Consulting Group, Roosevelt Institute, Club Squash

About: Coming to Yale was Joe's first time in the United States, where he stumbled on Mock Trial completely by chance. When he joined the association, he hadn’t considered law as a career, but now he spends his time fighting objection battles – a true samurai prefers death to the shame of defeat. In the future, Joe would like to work in either finance, or failing that, in interior decoration. Because if he doesn't make the boardroom of Goldman Sachs, the least he could do is to decorate it.
Josh Young

College: Ezra Stiles
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: Old Bethpage, NY

Activities: Club Tennis, The Yale Record, watching every TV show that's ever existed

About:                                           i.

When I was in high school, I did Mock Trial and kinda sucked. I'm only marginally better now. Most of what I bring to the table consists of attractiveness and sardonic witticisms. Jk. I'm not that sardonic. I only vaguely know what sardonic means. It's fine. Idk. Deuces.

During Camp Yale, my freshman year, I followed Chloe Larkin to an info session. I didn't know what it was for. It's just…when Chloe Larkin walks, you follow. So I did. It was a Mock Trial info session. And here I am.

Sometimes, people ask me, "Hey Josh, how'd you make Mock Trial?" And I say, "I don't know--how is Chloe Larkin so attractive?" And then, they always understand.
Justin Abbasi

College: Morse
Major: Chemical Engineering
Hometown: Murrells Inlet, SC

Activities: YHHAP, Engineers Without Borders, Research Assistant at SOM, Morse Intramural Sports

About: A humanities major at heart, Justin has unsuccessfully tried to excel at anything other than math, science, and perfecting his combover before his roommate wakes up for breakfast. He joined the YMTA to give purpose to the latter. Justin will go at great lengths to find someone who shares his enthusiasm for I Love Lucy and cheap concerts, and hopes to one day open a public aviary in South America if he ever ceases to emulate Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men. He refuses to finish his mock career before telling a witness he wants the truth on cross.

Charlotte Dougall

College: Jonathan Edwards
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: London, England

Activities: Club Lacrosse

About: Charlotte joined the Mock Trial team to find a means of channeling her obsession for Law & Order, The Good Wife, and Suits. She hopes to realize her life-long dream of becoming ADA Alexandra Cabot through her membership in the YMTA. Short of that, however, she’s looking forward to many a courtroom battle this season, and getting to know all the incredibly talented people on the team.
Scott Hicks

College: Pierson
Major: To be determined.
Hometown: San Luis Obispo, CA

Activities: + YouTube loop of fire crackling + smooth jazz or classical music + lava lamp

About: Born and raised in the slums of San Luis Obispo, California, Scott gambled his way to the top whilst courageously overcoming the trials and tribulations of standardized testing and the occasional rainfall. Scott had his first taste of success after becoming his second grade classroom’s Spelling Bee Champion, knocking out 9 of his peers on the daunting word “envelope.” In the third grade, Scott whet his palate with fame for the first time when he starred as Luigi, the lead character of Tomie De Paola’s masterpiece of a school play “The Magic Pasta Pot.” Finally, in that same year, Scott learned to pick himself back up (like Batman) after being defeated in the election of class mayor due to rampant elementary school sexism. The rest is history, and through it all, he could always fall back on knowing that at least his mom thought he was cool.
Cormac Mullin

College: Calhoun
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: Victor, ID

Phoebe Petrovic

College: Ezra Stiles
Major: Undeclared
Hometown: Essex, CT

Activities: Yale Dems, Parables, contributor to The Yale Daily News and The Yale Herald

About: Phoebe spent the majority of her high school career arguing with people and winning at it. Now in college, she spends her time handling dusty tomes at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library, writing for various campus publications, mocking with the YMTA, and listening to too many podcasts.
Patrick Doolittle

College: Saybrook
Major: Political Science (I guess)
Hometown: Hampstead, NH

Activities: Managing Editor, Rumpus; Yale Tour Guides; Yale Refugee Project

About: Patrick tried out for Yale Mock Trial with a monologue from a Kanye West song. He’s new at this.
