Yale's Malaysian and Singaporean Association (MASA)

The Malaysian and Singaporean Association (MASA) is a Yale undergraduate cultural organization.

Our on-campus activities involve mainly social and cultural events, such as the celebration of traditional festivals of the region. MASA serves as a focal point for interaction between students from South-East Asia, specifically students who identify with the countries of Malaysia and Singapore. Our activities are mainly informal, and although we individually have multiple interests that we pursue outside of MASA, we like to think that our time together keeps us sane from the busi-ness of Yale. We warmly welcome anyone who has an interest in South-East Asia to join us for conversation or other activities.

We are fortunate enough to have with us this year two Yale World Fellows, Huzir Sulaiman and Penny Low, from Malaysia and Singapore respectively. More information and contact details for Huzir and Penny can be found here.

We hope to ease the transition for those studying in the United States for the first time and make their experience less daunting and more comfortable. We also cater to the graduate student community.

MASA also aims to provide information for prospective students and hopes to introduce Yale students and faculty to the vibrant economic and cultural opportunities in Malaysia, Singapore and South-East Asia.
