The Transitions to Modernity Colloquium is a broadly interdisciplinary forum in which the nature and causes of the transition to modernity are explored and debated. We encourage participants and papers from history; sociology; economics; literature; political science; philosophy; anthropology; the arts, and related disciplines. This year's colloquium focuses on Early Modern Empire: History and Theory.

When pre-circulated papers are made available, they can be downloaded on this website approximately two weeks before each meeting.

Please feel free to contact Alyssa Reichardt and Samuel Southgate for more information.
