CALL FOR PROPOSALS

PIER Reunion Conference

The Programs in International Educational Resources (PIER) of the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University is accepting proposals from teachers/educators for presentation at the first ever PIER Reunion Conference (a pre-conference of the 2009 PIER Summer Institutes) scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Henry R. Luce Hall.

The 2009 PIER Summer Institutes program is asking ALL past PIER programs participants to send in proposals for workshop presentations.

Workshops are 60-minute presentations that showcase best classroom practices and teaching/teachable moments of new ideas and materials through discussion, audience participation, and hands-on activities.

Please submit a proposal of 250-500 words stating clearly the objectives, content, and techniques of presentation by e-mail no later than April 3, 2009 to maxwell.amoh@yale.edu. 

The body of the e-mail must contain the title of the presentation, your name, institutional affiliation and address, e-mail address, and phone number. The proposal must be sent as a Microsoft Word attachment. Participants will be notified of acceptance via e-mail. The presenters of the selected proposals will receive $100 each for their participation.

PIER Fellows and other teachers/educators are welcome to submit and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
