Julia Haenni, Senior Global Justice Fellow


Julia Haenni studied law at the University of Zurich, Switzerland (MLaw: 2005) and received a PhD from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland (PhD HSG: 2010), with distinction of the Walther Hug Award for the best legal thesis of the academic year and the Professor Walther Hug Award Switzerland (2012). After her graduation she worked as a scientific assistant at the University of Zurich (2006-2010). Following her PhD-studies and a short research stay at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany, she taught law as a senior research assistant (Oberassistenz) at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland; 2010-2012) and in Indonesia (National Hindu Dharma Institute, Denpasar). She is presently working for the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, Lausanne (Greffier/Junior Judge, since 2012) and as a lecturer at the Universities of Zurich, Lucerne and St. Gallen (HSG; successor lectureship Legal Philosophy of Prof. Dr. mult. Peter Häberle and Prof. Dr. mult. Otfried Höffe). Julia Haenni`s expertise lies in Swiss Public Law, Public International Law and Philosophy of Law.
