Xuemei Liu, Global Justice Fellow

Having received her Ph.D. in philosophy from Nanjing University in China, Xuemei Liu is now teaching in Zhejiang Normal University. Though she begins her philosophical journey with Kant’s and Rawls’s theories, her research field is not restricted to them. She focuses on distributive justice and democracy, as well as on political thoughts. She has published over ten papers in the journals of CSSCI and co-translated some books. Two of them are best-sellers in China, e.g., Geoffrey Thomas’ An Introduction to Political Philosophy and Thomas Pogge’s John Rawls: His life and Theory of Justice. At present, she is undertaking a research project funded by National Social Science foundation of China. .
