Welcome

The British Historical Studies Colloquium is an interdisciplinary gathering devoted to the study of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and their colonial and cultural dependencies. We encourage the participation of historians, literary scholars, political scientists, sociologists, and scholars of related disciplines.

The colloquium generally meets in Beinecke 38/39 on Thursdays at 4:30PM, as scheduled in both fall and spring semesters to discuss precirculated work by visitors, graduate students, and Yale faculty. The group defines historical studies broadly to include historically situated work in literature, philosophy, art history, political science, sociology, economics as well as history.

Each session is open to anyone wishing to attend. All papers will be available on this website.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship in British Studies available.
