for African Development (LEAD)
The Council on African Studies has recently partnered with the Institute for Research on African Women, Children and Culture (IRAWCC) to establish the Leadership Enterprise for African Development (LEAD). Its goal is to contribute to the process of reform and revitalization in African countries by strengthening leadership and governance capacity in the public, business, and civil society sectors. LEAD will look to Africa for its leadership resources and will draw upon them to elucidate viable frameworks, models, and practices for effective governance. The institute will also engage Yale faculty and students with research opportunities, internships, and job placement possibilities throughout the continent.
