O'Reilly recently published "Open Sources", a book about the Free Software
movement containing a number fo essays from various perspectives --
including, I assume, the commercial viewpoint since it contains an article
by Michael Tiemann of Cyngus Solutions, a company built on open software --
and key personalities, including RMS, ESR, Linus, Larry Wall (Perl),
Behlendorf (Apache), etc. etc. Even for those who think "Tim O'Reilly is a
parasite on the Free software movement", it should be a good read; so far
I've heard nothing but goods things about it (but don't have a copy yet).
Check it out: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/opensources/

RMS's essay is, of course, available for free off the internet.

(I can't remember if anyone has mentioned this on the list before; sorry if
I'm being redundant.)
