I *always* use ssh, but that my x progs didn't work automatically. (I
tried cameleon and rattlesnake. I think the same thing happens in the
enclosed lab.) I even tried (though I'm sure it wasn't the right thing
to do) to ftp the .Xauthority to my comp, do a xauth -merge on it, with
the one on my comp, and sending it back to the machine, but that didn't
go any good either.

I've now noticed that I don't have /usr/bin/X11 in my path... so I'll
try fixing that and using xhost next time.
