The Samba docs include an example that should point you in the
right direction (if not do exactly what you need!). On a Red Hat
install, you'll probably find them in:
/usr/doc/$SAMBADOCDIR/examples/autofs
The shell script marries autofs, mount, and smbmount, with the
password control at the user level (by storing individual's
passwords in ~/smb-pass).
