I haven't seen this posted to the list yet. My boss wrote "Just a little
self-promotion...pass the word. Anyone that is currently doing sysadmin or
aspires to be a sysadmin is welcome." so I thought I should forward the
announcement. I figured this would be relevant to the people on this list.

To facilitate information sharing among Yale system administrators, ITS ISO is arranging monthly meetings that are open to any individual in the Yale community who administers computers, including but not limited to full-time system administrators and graduate students who have been given the responsibility of administering machines.
There will be two meetings each month - one meeting for Windows NT and another for Unix. At each meeting, an experienced administrator will give a presentation on a topic of their choosing, leaving time for questions and group discussion.
The hope is that this sharing of information will enable system administrators to get to know each other, develop their expertise, and improve the security of our campus network as a whole.
The first Windows NT meeting will be in the Peabody 3rd Floor Auditorium on Sept 1 from 11 AM - noon. Ken Hoover will be presenting tools and techniques that make it easier to maintain multiple NT systems.
The first Unix meeting will be in the Peabody 3rd Floor Auditorium on Sept 3 from 2 - 3 PM. Paul Gluhosky will be presenting tools and techniques that make it easier to maintain multiple UNIX systems.
Please RSVP to eoghan.casey@yale.edu to give him a sense of how many participants to expect. Also, please contact Eoghan if you would be willing to give a presentation at future meetings.
