About The Liberal Party

The Liberal Party is the leftmost party of the Yale Political Union. Every week, the Libs discuss topics relevant to the left, from contemporary issues to liberal philosophical divisions.

Liberal Party discussions are informal but contentious. The Libs embrace the fact that provocative ideas are the most interesting, as long as the speaker can defend them. We prize substantive discourse over competitive hostility.

The Liberal Party is also a social organization. Besides debate, the Libs host weekly dinners, game nights, and other events to which all are welcome. To learn more about us, come to a debate!
