Graduating doesn't conclude your relationship with Yale's LGBT community. In some ways, it's only a beginning.
The Yale Gay and Lesbian Alumni/ae Association, Inc. is an educational and cultural organization that seeks to promote the well being and betterment of the Yale University gay and lesbian community, among alumni, faculty, students and the public at large; to assist and aid its members and other members of the community with the common problems affecting gay men and lesbians; to provide educational opportunities in the form of scholarships, awards and prizes for Yale University students; to assist with organizing educational activities and events to inform gay and lesbian alumni, students and the general public of the current activities and historical significance of gays and lesbians on collegiate campuses around the country and the world; to foster positive relations between Yale University and its lesbian and gay alumni and students; and to participate with other organizations in activities pertaining to the gay and lesbian community and its interests.
BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
Currently, Yale GALA membership consists of over 1,000 gay, lesbian and bisexual and transgendered alumni/ae, faculty and staff.

Annual Membership dues are as follows:
1 year out of school - FREE
2-5 years out of school - $20
Retirees - $20
All others - $40

The Yale GALA Newsletter (published three times a year)
E-mail newsletter once a month
As a member, you’ll also help support GALA functions which benefit the Yale student body. Every year, Yale GALA:
Awards a cash prize of $250 for the best Senior essay related to gay and lesbian studies.
Hosts a yearly reception for graduating students (undergrads as well as students with advanced degrees).
