LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT STUDIO

Notes for Teachers

The program comprises three components:

1. FILM: INTERACTIVE VIEWING of the FILM
2. ÉCRITURES: NOTES and ACTIVITIES
3. PAROLES: SPEAKING EXERCISES and ROLE-PLAYING (THÉÂTRE)

All three components may be used:

• in class by teachers;
• by students doing homework on their own computer;
• or by students in a language learning center.

1. FILM: Using the INTERACTIVE VIEWING of the FILM

The teacher has several options:

  • Ask the students to watch the whole film (FILM mode) on their own before class;
  • Ask the students to watch one of the eight parts, or a number of segments before class;
  • Present a section of the film in class, and then assign as homework the activities based on that section. Homework may involve assignments after class or in preparation for class.
