A native of the Texas-Mexico border region, Rosalinda Garcia is an Assistant Dean at Yale College and Director of Yale’s Latino Cultural Center. She is responsible for overseeing the work of thirteen Latino based student groups affiliated with the center and has also served as the primary advisor to Yale’s Women’s Center. Dean Garcia currently directs Cultural Connections, one of Yale’s pre-orientation programs, has also directed the Mellon Mays Minority Fellowship Program and is responsible for coordinating the Nakanishi Prize. Through these roles, she is able to provide support and advice to students on an on-going basis.

Prior to arriving at Yale, Dean Garcia worked in the Residence Life Department at Columbia University in New York City, where she received an Ed.M. She holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of the Incarnate Word and an M.A in Multicultural Studies from the University of Texas, San Antonio.

An active member of the New Haven community, Dean Garcia volunteers as an interpreter at the Fair Haven Free Clinic and has served on a number of Connecticut based committees, most recently on the Latino Voting Summit Planning Committee chaired by the Secretary of the State.
