Jason is a recent graduate of the class of 2007 at Yale University with a major in East Asian Studies (focus on Japan).

Outside of kendo, Jason is interested in literature, writing, mountain biking, and art (among other things). Jason had one year of experience in kendo before joining Koushinkan, and he enjoys the diversity of experience that comes from attending different dojos. For Jason, kendo is at once a means of expression, a release, and a way to improve himself. He hopes to pursue kendo until old age makes him incapable, using it as a means of shaping and defining his life.
