Welcome

Dear Parents & Friends:

Hello! As the Community Chair of KASY (Korean American Students of Yale), I am pleased to announce that another wonderful Adopted Friends Picnic is fast approaching. We hope to continue the Adopted Friends tradition in the same enthusiastic and energetic manner that we have done in the past!

On behalf of KASY, I would like to express my gratitude for allowing us to be part of your family. I would also like to thank the families that attended last year's picnic for your patience and kind words. The Adopted Friends Picnic is the single most important event for KASY every semester , and we are very fortunate to have your continued support . We value this program deeply , as it gives us the opportunity to experience rewarding relationships with our little sibs and share our culture with the community . We hold great respect for your roles as parents; providing homes, love, and attention not only impacts our young friends but also serves as a positive example for all of us.

We have scheduled our Adopted Friends Fall Picnic for Saturday, April 12th , 2008 in Street Hall . Please note that this is the same location as last year's Adopted Friends Picnic. Street Hall is located on 1071 Chapel Street on the corner of Old Campus and can be reached through High Street gate (59 High St).  In the case of any confusion, there will be signs from William L. Harkness Hall (WLH) to Street Hall to direct you towards the event. The program will occur promptly at 1 pm, but we strongly encourage you to come early to mingle with the other families and enjoy some Korean food!  We look forward to reconnecting with our little sibs, as we have many new ideas for the children's workshops and closing ceremony. For the parents, there will be a speaker (TBA) coming in to parents discussion panel.

Please send all the required forms by Monday, March 31st , 2008. We strongly encourage you to visit our website ( www.yale.edu/kasy ) for online registration and for any questions regarding the picnic. Directions to Street Hall will also be posted online.

Thank you for giving me and the other KASY members the opportunity to share and celebrate our rich culture with others. Please contact me with any comments, questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

Wonjae Lee
