Are you thinking about coming to Yale in the fall? The undergraduate program offers a wide
range of courses and activities to please almost any of your interests.
If you have already gotten your big Yale envelope and listened to "Bulldog, Bulldog" while
watching Handsome Dan, hold on tight because you are about to embark on one of the most
rewarding journeys you will ever take. Starting in the fall, you will be bombarded (in a good
way) with brochures, flyers, buttons, candy, and all sorts of things to join the smorgasbord
of clubs and organizations here at Yale. Though we're a small group, KASAMA welcomes fresh facess
every year to our ranks. And just because we are the Filipino club doesn't mean that you can't
join if you're not Filipino. We welcome all ranges of experiences, from those who currently
live in the Philippines and speak Tagalog, to those who grew up watching the Filipino channel
with their lolos and lolas, to those who may have eaten Jolibee once or even just happen to know
a Filipino person. If you want to learn more about the Philippines and Filipino culture,
KASAMA can help you.
Interested in joining? Just talk to us! We're like a family here. Our upperclassmen love giving
advice and sharing stories of their experiences. and our freshmen will help you become acquainted
with the inner workings of Yale. We love to just hang out, eat (you'll be doing a lot of eating with
us), dance, and have a good time. You'll have the chance to be part of our annual Barrio Fiesta cultural
show, sing karaoke with our alumni, and be part of our legendary KASAMA happy hour! We want you to feel
at home with KASAMA and hope you can get as much out of it as you can.
Feel free to contact any board member with any questions or concerns you may have. We have a
wide spectrum of majors, personalities, and upbringings, so we can find you someone to talk
to. Also, try to visit Yale campus to see what life is like in New Haven. If you can,
come to Bulldog Days in the spring and chill with the KASAMA crew for a few days. You definitely won't regret it.
