Yale institutional Web servers

The ITS Webmaster Team supports web sites and related services used on Yale's primary institutional Web servers:

Yale has a number of Web servers dedicated to the various needs of faculty, staff and students. The following descriptions should be helpful in determining the server that will best serve your needs:

Elsinore

Elsinore (www.yale.edu) is the institutional Web server that hosts Web space for Yale-affiliated organizations and interest groups. Elsinore account holders are given 40 MB of space at no charge to qualifying organizations. Additional space is available for a fee. Applicants must be members of the Yale Community, (Yale faculty, staff or students) and have a valid Yale NetID. Note that for security reasons no server-side scripting is permitted on Elsinore.

Bin

bin.yale.edu provides users with access to a variety of scripting and programming tools. The goal is to allow users to experiment with development tools that are not available on other institutional servers. bin.yale.edu is an unsupported service. The Webmaster Team maintains the Bin server, however there is no professional support, consultation, or code de-bugging available for the services provided on this machine. Applicants must have a valid Yale NetID.
