Certain combinations of these methods are possible. For instance, off-campus users can be required to authenticate using a password, but on-campus users can be allowed access without a password. The possible combinations are:
Note: It is not possible to combine Yale netid and password access with custom passwords that you create. For instance, if you wish to password protect a web site that is accessed both by current Yale affiliates with valid Yale NetIDs and by alumni without NetIDs, you will have to create custom ids and passwords for all users. Note: .htaccess files control access to the directory in which they reside and any of its subdirectories. |
