Long distance calling
Yale operates its own private long distance network, YALENET. We offer direct long distance dialing to anywhere in the world. YALENET is available seven days a week, 24 hours per day.
Toll Authorization Numbers provides security from toll call abuse on your phone, and the ability to place long distance calls from other University telephones. Toll Authorization Numbers are personalized codes (not unlike PIN numbers for bank accounts) that are entered via the telephone keypad. The primary billing party may also choose to have their phone unrestricted. This means you may dial directly anywhere in the world without a Toll Authorization Number, akin to dialing long distance from your home.
