Setting Windows to Automatically Updatee
If you are using Windows, we strongly recommend that you configure Automatic Updating by following the steps below. Automatic updating is very useful because it keeps your computer fully patched, even if you forget to run Windows Update. As the result, your computer is protected against potential security problems.
Windows Vista
Windows Vista is set for Automatic Updates by default.
Windows XP
- Right-click on My Computer, and select Properties. Alternatively, you can open up the Control Panel and select Automatic Updates.
- Select the Automatic Updates tab.
- Select Automatically download the updates, and change the default install time from Every day at 3:00 AM to when your computer will most likely be on, like 12PM.
- Click OK. Your computer will now check for Windows updates daily and keep it protected.
