Limiting Interactive Logon in Windows NT 4.0
This document describes how to set the local security policy for logging on locally to a Windows NT 4.0 machine. When setting this policy it limits who can log on interactively to the machine and complies with the School of Medicine Workstation Best Practices.
Click on Start > Programs > Administrative Tools and select User Manager.

Select User Rights from the Policies menu.

Select Log on Locally from the Right: drop down menu

Remove each of these users by clicking on them and then clicking remove :
NOTE: DO NOT REMOVE ADMINISTRATORS
- Backup operators
- Everyone
- Guests
- Power Users
- Users

Click the Add button.
In the Add Names: section, enter in YALE\Netid. The Netid should be of a client who should have access to log into this machine. If you need to add multiple clients separate each with a semicolon.

Click OK.
This window should contain only the users you have specified as well as Administrator.

Click OK, then close User Manager.
