How do I use the scanner? (Mac)
- Answer:
-
Several applications can be used to scan documents. In time, after experimentation, you will undoubtedly develop your preferred scanning techniques. The instructions below are for basic image scanning.
- Make sure the scanner is turned on and attached to the computer.
- Place the item to be scanned face down on the scanner.
- Open Adobe Photoshop from the Desktop Publishing folder on the "Dock" or within the Applications folder.
- From the Photoshop menu, select File - Import - and the model number of the Epson scanner.
- The Epson Scan software will launch. Epson Scan has three modes: Full Auto, Home, and Professional. The mode can be changed by clicking on the Mode list box in the top right corner of the Epson Scan window. If the Mode list box is not visible, it may be hidden under the Photoshop toolbars, and you will have to move the toolbars to change the Epson Scan mode.
- In Photoshop the image can be adjusted and manipulated. For help using Photoshop, see the Help menu at the top of the screen. When your image is in its final state, you can save the image to a file, or you can copy and paste it into other documents.
- Other Applications used for scanning include Preview, Image Capture, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Adobe Acrobat Pro can also convert scanned images into text formats for use in Microsoft Word.
