| In person support for students | No change. We’ll still offer the same levels of support for students. |
| Ordering and picking up computer equipment | Online ordering is available: http://www.yale.edu/sciquest (departmental purchases for Dell, adding Apple soon) http://www.yale.edu/eportal (departmental and personal purchases of Windows and Apple computers) Equipment will now be delivered directly to you. The staff at the new CMC will continue to offer expert advice on which computer is best for you. |
| Repair of home & other personally owned computers | We still offer this service with the same fee structure, but have discontinued cash sales. Checks or credit cards only, please. |
| Pickup and drop off of pagers | This service will continue to be offered at a new location outside of the CMC. Yale Telecomm is working on a new way to deliver this service. Look for an announcement from them soon. |
| Print services | This service will no longer be offered through the CMC. Yale RIS is working on a new way to deliver this service. Look for an announcement from them soon. |
| NetID activations & password changes | Provided through self-service kiosks at the CMC. Assistance also available from the ITS Help Desk, 203-432-9000 |
| Coordination of photography & design services | Available at 135 College Street,Suite 101 432-2665 photo.design@yale.edu |
| Coordination of audio visual support services | Audio Visual support services will be located at 333 Cedar Street, Room IE34 737-3404 medclassroom.support@yale.edu |
| Secure wiping (de-gaussing)of data from old hard drives and shredding of optical media (CD,DVD) | Will continue as a free service in the new location. Bring in your old hard drives and media. |
No appointment is necessary to drop off a device for service. Billable services are payable by departmental PTAEO or personal check and are billed in quarter hour increments at the current service technician hourly rate. There is a one week (5 business day) turn around time for all devices dropped off for service.
