Import email into Thunderbird

Download and install the latest version of Mozilla Thunderbird from http://www.mozilla.com.

Download the
ImportExport Tools Addon for Thunderbird (Right click and select "save target as") and save it to the desktop. -
Start Mozilla Thunderbird and select the Tools menu, then click Add-Ons.

Click the Install button in the lower left.

Select the installer .xpi file downloaded to the desktop, and click "Install" on the window that pops up.

Click the Restart Thunderbird button in the lower right.

When Thunderbird restarts, create a new folder under Local Folders. This will be the destination for the email messages you will import.

Locate the archive you downloaded from the Email Archiver Tool. Double click to open the file. You may be asked to unzip the file: agree to this and unzip the contents of the file to your desktop. This should include a folder called "email."

Double click to open the new folder entitled "email." Leave this folder window open on your desktop while you complete the next step.

Click on the folder your have created in Local Folders so it is highlighted, then click the Tools menu and select Import/Export in mbox/eml format then select Import mbox format.

Choose the .mbox file you wish to import from the email folder and click OK.

The mail messages from the archive will then be imported into the local folders and can be viewed offline using Thunderbird.
