Outlook 2003 Central IMAP 
IMPORTANT: This documentation is for configuring Outlook 2003 for Central email accounts using the IMAP protocol. Documentation for a different configuration can be found at Configure my email software.
Windows Configuration
Installation
Download Yale's version of Outlook 2003 to insure that you obtain a properly configured, site-licensed copy. This software can be downloaded from the ITS Software Library.
Configure your settings
Once you have installed Outlook 2003, go to Tools, then Email Accounts. A new window will appear titled Email Accounts. Make sure Add a new Email account is selected and click Next.

Server Type
This window asks for you to select a server type. Choose IMAP and click Next.

Email Settings
In this window you will configure the email settings for your Yale University Central IMAP account. Make sure your configurations match the screenshot below. After you have filled in the settings, click on More Settings.

Advance Email Settings
This window has four tabs. Select the tab Advanced and fill in the settings as shown on the screenshot below. Then select the Outgoing Server tab and make sure you to fill in the settings as shown on the second screenshot below. After you have filled in the settings for the Advanced and Outgoing Server tabs click OK. Then click Next on the Internet Email Settings (IMAP) window.
Congrats
After you have clicked Next, a new window will appear that says "Congratulations", click Finish.

Configure LDAP for Outlook
To configure LDAP for Outlook, go to Tools, then Email Accounts. Make sure to select Add a new directory or address book, then click Next.

In the next window, select Internet Directory Service (LDAP) and click Next.

For this window, enter the server name shown on the screenshot below and then click More Settings.
Note: If you are off-campus, you will need to connect to Yale's network with the Cisco Virtual Private Network Client Software in order to connect to LDAP. Cisco's VPN Client Software can be downloaded from the Yale Software Library.
Directory Service (LDAP) Settings - More Settings
In this window there are two tabs, Connection and Search. For Connection, fill in the information as shown on the screenshot below. For Search, fill in the information as shown on the second screenshot. After you have completed filling in the information for both tabs, click OK. Then click Next and click Finish on the congratulations window.
