Email address

Your email address will be: netid@pantheon.yale.edu
Your name will be listed in the Yale directory services as: firstname.lastname@yale.edu
Either address may be used by those who send you email.

Accessing your account

Before accessing your account you will need to know your NetID and password. Your NetID must be activated to assign a password to your email account and for access to other computing services. A PIN has been assigned to each resident for one time use in activating your NetID.

Departmental resident coordinators should be able to provide NetID and PIN numbers to residents in their respective departments.  Please see your specific  resident coordinator for this information.   If there is any problem or delay in obtaining your PIN, request a new pin by following the procedures.

There are several options to access your account:

  1. Point your web browser to https://www.mail.yale.edu/ - a Web front end (called IMP) to the Central Campus Email System – aka Pantheon.yale.edu.
    1. Enter your NetID as your usernname.
    2. Enter your password as created when you activated your NetID with the PIN number.
    3. Click on the logon button
The Web front end for email, called IMP, has extensive online help files which explain how to use its features and functions. Webmail is useful when accessing email from a remote location. You can access your account from any networked computer.
  2. Install ITS supported email software on your personal computer. Go to the Software Library for software downloads and instructions.  Detailed configuration instructions for supported email programs are also available.
  3. Use computing resources available in the Medical Library at 333 Cedar St.  to access email or to use online medical information references such as MEDLINE, Micromedex, the Cochrane resources, and many full-text journals.

Useful information

  • Yale-New Haven Hospital software and information
  • House Staff can purchase computing services from Information Technology Services.
  • While in the Hospital, House Staff can access most of these same resources from the Hospital's Clinical Workstations. Thus, online medical information can be used 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in support of patient care and clinical education.
