Services provided
Linux Systems Design & Support provides a range of services to the Yale community. Our goal is to meet the needs of student and faculty computing in the Linux/Unix environment and to assist in the planning and implementation of faculty projects that require more robust solutions.
| Faculty support | In partnership with the FAS IT Support Program, Linux Systems Design & Support provides support for technical workstations running Linux/UNIX to faculty in the arts and sciences. |
| High Performance Computing (HPC) | LSDS supports several HPC clusters including pay for usage clusters, as well as systems owned by departments, research groups or individual researchers. |
| Clusters | LSDS supports departmental computing clusters on campus that run the Linux and UNIX operating systems. |
| Research | Support for laboratories and other research environments on campus. Typically these settings are comprised of multiple computing platforms that need to be integrated for purposes of data collection, analysis, and/or storage. For more information on support services for research environments, visit: http://www.yale.edu/its/amt/fasit/doco/research.html. |
| Servers | LSDS supports servers for academic departments and other groups that have specialized computational or storage needs. We also maintain a shared server environment known as http://research.yale.edu. |
