Services provided

Linux Systems Design & Support provides a range of services to the Yale community. Our goal is to meet the needs of student and faculty computing in the Linux/Unix environment and to assist in the planning and implementation of faculty projects that require more robust solutions.

Faculty support In partnership with the FAS IT Support Program, Linux Systems Design & Support provides support for technical workstations running Linux/UNIX to faculty in the arts and sciences.

High Performance Computing (HPC) LSDS supports several HPC clusters including pay for usage clusters, as well as systems owned by departments, research groups or individual researchers.
Clusters LSDS supports departmental computing clusters on campus that run the Linux and UNIX operating systems.
Research Support for laboratories and other research environments on campus. Typically these settings are comprised of multiple computing platforms that need to be integrated for purposes of data collection, analysis, and/or storage. For more information on support services for research environments, visit: http://www.yale.edu/its/amt/fasit/doco/research.html.
Servers LSDS supports servers for academic departments and other groups that have specialized computational or storage needs. We also maintain a shared server environment known as http://research.yale.edu.
