7. Monitoring Network Printers

James Szinger and Paul Gluhosky have written up instructions here: http://wss.yale.edu/doco/BigBrother/printbb-how.html.

The only addition would be to create a subpage for the printers and compress the output to get rid of the "unused" columns in the display. To create a subpage use the "page" keyword in bb-hosts file. You should place the "page" keywords at the bottom of bb-hosts. It's a good idea to use the "group-compress" keyword after "page" only display the network connection and printer status of each printer. Here is what the entries look like in bb-hosts:
