Departmental Technology Consultant (DTC) job description
Major duties
Working on an on-call basis, provide support to faculty end-users for desktop computers, network connections and applications software. Assist in identifying and configuring appropriate equipment; assists with initial setup, network connection and local configuration, assist with software installations and upgrades. Reports directly to Manager of Faculty Support.
Skills
Familiarity with academic environment; ability to work with faculty, ITS/AM&T professional staff and students. Service-minded and self-motivated. Technical skills in supported Windows and Macintosh platforms and common desktop applications, working knowledge of networking and network client applications. Additional training will be provided.
Hours and salary
Hours vary according to individual departmental sizes and needs, approximately 4-10 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with abilities and ranges from $11.00-$15.00 per hour.
