Changing your NetID password

Password propagation requires time for some Windows computers

For best results, immediately after changing your password, log off your Windows computer (click Start/Log Off NetID) and wait at least 15 minutes before you log back in.  It may be helpful to change your password just before leaving for a meeting, going to lunch or leaving the office for the day.

If you are running a Macintosh operating system

Macintosh computers have a local password that does not sync with the Yale Domain. When you change your NetID password in CAS, it will not change this local password. To change your local password you will need to go into User Preferences.
