Erin McCarthy King

Erin McCarthy King's work consists of a dissertation on five Renaissance epics which make Christopher Columbus an epic protagonist. The dissertation looks specifically at the effect of Columbus' journey on the contemporaneous language debate in Italy and how these five poets, also linguists, relate Columbus to issues of national language, borders, and "otherness".
