The Department of Italian Language and Literature offers a number of summer courses under the aegis of Yale Summer Session. The Summer 2008 courses include an L3-L4 language course, "Intermediate Italian" (ITAL S130), featuring three weeks of study in New Haven and five weeks of study in Siena, and an L5 literature and culture course, "Jewish Italy" (ITAL S246), taught for five weeks in Siena. "Sardinia in Literature and Film" (ITAL S125), taught for five weeks in Oristano, Sardinia, is currently on hiatus.
