Palle Kongsgaard

Palle Kongsgaard was born in 1952 in Jutland, Denmark. He earned his Master’s degree in Theology from the University of Aarhus in 1989, and is currently earning an additional Master’s Degree in Liturgical Theology and Post Modernity from the University of Copenhagen, working on liturgy as a sacred power field using jazz music as a metaphor for contemporary worshiping. He serves as Pastor in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Denmark in Grundtvigs Church, Copenhagen. In addition, he writes and lectures on liturgy, space and urbanism, and teaches at the Pastoral Seminary in Aarhus.

In 2007, he spent five months at Saint Peter’s Church, New York and at New York Theological Seminary studying church and community relations reflecting on the role of the Jazz Ministry in Saint Peter´s.
