Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra

Keen on astute aural perception, soul-connecting creativity, and translucent sound, Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra, organist, harpsichordist, clavichordist, conductor, composer, and recording artist, authors books on improvisation pedagogy and composes liturgical vocal music for adults and children. From 1989–2008, she served as Professor of Music at Eastern Michigan University and Bethany College, and from 1996–2002 as Senior Researcher at the Göteborg (Sweden) Organ Art Center. Ruiter-Feenstra currently performs solo recitals and early music concerts with Voci dell'Anima and teaches intensive improvisation courses on historical instruments throughout North America and Europe. Her recordings are featured on the Loft/Gothic label, and her books, Bach and the Art of Improvisation and Improvisation Encounters are forthcoming.
