Katherine Solomonson teaches in the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota and is also affiliated with American Studies and Art History. Her publications include The Chicago Tribune Tower Competition: Skyscraper Design and Cultural Change in the 1920s, recipient of the Alice Davis Hitchcock award from the Society of Architectural Historians. Currently she is coediting the book series, “Architecture, Landscape and American Culture;” coediting an anthology titled Making Suburbia; and completing a book on Cass Gilbert that explores the geographically dispersed systems and practices that produced both a modern architectural profession and changing domestic, spiritual, commercial, and civic spaces in the American West.
