Yale Camerata, under the direction of Marguerite L. Brooks, will give its annual Advent concert on Saturday, December 1 at 8pm in Battell Chapel in New Haven (corner College and Elm).

The program will include a fascinating variety of pieces ranging from wildly chromatic selections from Lassus' sixteenth century Prophetiae Sibyllarum to a newly composed work by Tawnie Olson, Scel lem duib, a hauntingly beautiful piece for chorus and harp with an Irish text that speaks of the end of summer and the beginning of winter, complete with the sounds of wild geese on their migratory paths. Scel lem duib was commissioned for the Camerata by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music from the Robert Baker Commissioning Fund for New Music. It is dedicated to the choir and to Marguerite Brooks.

The concert also includes the Dona nobis pacem from Bach's Mass in B-minor, and concludes, in its annual tradition, with the Willcocks arrangement of Goss’s See, amid the Winter’s Snow, with the Camerata joined by the audience.
