Each congregation will send to the summer seminar a three-person team that includes one ordained clergy, one musician, and one lay leader. Preference will be given to teams that involve the most senior clergyperson and musician. The lay leader could be the liturgy director; a member of vestry, session, or church council; a minister of education; or another leader in the congregation. If no such person is readily available, the congregation may suggest another member of the clergy or music staff.

We seek ministers and musicians who are professionally trained. For ministers, this training most often is done in seminaries and divinity schools. Musicians are trained in schools and departments of music, but also through certification programs and life-long apprenticeships.

Over time, these congregational teams will grow into a national ecumenical network of leaders in worship, music, and the arts.
