Postdoctoral Fellowships in Liturgical Studies
The Yale Institute of Sacred Music welcomes applications for yearlong postdoctoral teaching-research fellowships. Scholars whose work engages with the history, practice, and/or theology of Christian worship are invited to apply. The Institute is especially interested in applicants whose work intersects with the interdisciplinary mission of the ISM (sacred music, worship and the related arts).
Postdoctoral fellows conduct their own research, teach one course, attend the Liturgy Symposium and weekly ISM Colloquium, and participate in the general life of the ISM. Each fellowship offers a salary of $42,000 plus benefits.
Applicants who have received the Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) during the previous five years are eligible to apply. Applicants who do not have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of application must include a letter from their committee or department chair stating that the Ph.D. degree will be conferred before the term of the fellowship begins.
The deadline for receipt of application materials is January 15.
Yale is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer. Yale values diversity in its faculty, staff, and students and especially encourages applications from women and underrepresented minorities.
