Schematic diagram of the major pulmonary segments and the bronchial supply. Note that the right lung is divided into three major segments: right upper lobe (pink), right middle lobe (yellow), and right lower lobe (blue). The lobes are separated by fissures that slope upward posteriorly and are seen as a transparent sloping plane. The left lung is divided into only two lobes: the lingula (pink) and the left lower lobe (blue).
