COMMENTS

Although it is not uncommon to find the lateral chest film displayed with the body either looking left or right, depending on which side of the patient was closest to the film, it is most sensible to present the lateral the film always in some fixed manner to the viewer so that consistent visual pattern recognition can be achieved.
