Please note that all of these lines are restricted access, except for the "no-netid 9600/2400 bps lines." You must be signed up for each specific type of line in order to have access to it. Please contact the User Accounts Office for information on how to set up a dial-in account.
If one of the lines is not taking your netid/password, or gives you an "Access Denied" or "User Authentication Failure" message, you should first make sure you are calling the right phone number, then you should double-check the instructions that came with the software, and if all those fail, call User Accounts at (203) 432-6627 and ask them if there is a problem on your account.
If you experience trouble with these lines, and you are positive that it has nothing to do with your setup (for example, if it's been working and all of a sudden it stops working) then it may be that there's a problem with the lines at Yale. The DNO Help Desk (432-5749) fields phone calls to get lines repaired.
Instructions for: Terminal Dialup Lines (http://www.yale.edu/iic/use/howdial-term-qg.html)
No-net ID lines are restricted to sites in the Yale domain (xxxx.xx.yale.edu) only. No-net ID lines are currently unsupported and are due to be phased out in the near future. All clients should be advised to switch to the standard terminal dialup (764-950x) lines as soon as possible.
Router is in direct PPP mode, you must connect to this line with a PPP client in PAP mode. A terminal emulator dialing this line will only give you garbage.
Note that Student SLIP has been phased out in favor of PPP and the Student SLIP lines have been disconnected. Please see the User Accounts office to switch or activate your PPP account, which is at no charge if your account status is current. Faculty SLIP is scheduled to be disconnected in the "near future".[an error occurred while processing this directive]
