PPP or ARA requires the following:

• You must have at least 5 megabytes of RAM (8 megabytes for PowerPC)
• You must have a Macintosh with a 68020 or higher processor (or PowerPC). This means you can't run it on a Mac Plus, SE, Classic, PB 100, or LC.
• You must have at least 10 megs of free space on your hard drive.
• You must have System 7.1 or higher installed on your computer. PCI Power Macintoshes (7200;7500;8200;8500, etc.) must use System 7.5.3 or higher with Open Transport.
• A 14.4 kbps or faster modem.

PPP and ARA run best with the following configuration:

• 8 megabytes of RAM or more on 680x0 machines and 12 megabytes of RAM or more on PowerPC.
• A 28.8 kbps (v.34; v.42/v.42bis) or faster modem
• System 7.5.3 or later
