Peking University (PKU)

Also known as Beida, Peking University was founded in 1898 and is the first national university in modern Chinese history. Over 15,000 undergraduates and 12,000 graduate students study on a large campus northwest of central Beijing, along with nearly 2,000 international students.

Peking University is China’s top university. World University Rankings 2006/7 ranked Peking University number 14 in the world based on research quality, graduate employability, internationalization and teaching quality. (View source)

This joint program is a natural outgrowth of the many shared activities between Yale and Peking University over the years. Individual faculty collaborate, graduate students visit on an exchange basis, and two joint labs on the campus allow for on-going research.
