Activities

Student Organizations at PKU

You can get involved in many activities including traveling groups, athletic clubs, or arts societies.

Peking University offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as Chinese art and calligraphy classes, tai-chi and martial arts exercise courses, as well as many recreational sport facilities. International students are welcome to join university student groups, such as athletic teams, literary groups, dance and theater troupes, chorus, symphony orchestra, etc. PKU has over 100 student groups.

Program Activities

There are events and field trips organized for Program students. In addition, the Yuanpei students invite Yale students to various activities, such as dumpling making. Also, students are encouraged to organize study breaks and other events.

Program students may participate in Smiling Library, a book distribution project coordinated by Gwen Zahner. Smiling Library distributes books to rural middle and high schools within China.

Entertainment in Beijing

As a global, cosmopolitan city, Beijing has a plethora of entertainment offerings, from Peking Opera to dance performances to acrobatics.
