Program Highlights
Small class sizes. The most advanced approved program in Japan.
NOTE regarding credit:
IUC does not issue a transcript. Instead, IUC provides a certificate of attendance, which does not show grades. Therefore, any student attempting to take IUC for credit will be subject to a placement exam back at Yale, which will determine whether or not credit can be given.

Official IUC Message:
The Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies invites applicants for its intensive training in advanced spoken and written Japanese program in Yokohama, Japan. The program is designed to bring each participant to a level of proficiency sufficient for advanced academic or professional use. Training focuses on development of the ability to converse in Japanese on specialized subjects, to comprehend and deliver public presentations, and to read and write materials in Japanese in order to function professionally in academia, business, government, and other fields.

Requirements
Applicants should have 2 or more years of college-level Japanese or the equivalent. Graduating seniors who can demonstrate commitment to a career relating to Japan. Graduate students who are active candidates for an advanced degree. One-term study (that is, just the fall or sping portion of the 10 Month Program) is not possible.
